Autumn foliage. The most perfect backdrop for fall family photo sessions. As a photographer fall equals busy season. Families want to cash in on the beautiful changing leaves and get those photos ready for their holiday cards. I’m usually ready for busy season, but this year was a little different. I had our third son in mid-September which meant I missed the start of busy season and had to turn down some maternity and newborn bookings. Fortunately I have the best clients that see me year after year for family sessions and were willing to wait until I was ready to start back up. A huge thank you to all those loyal friends! I was also lucky because post-pardem recovery was a breeze and was able to get back to it three and half weeks later.
The next eight weeks were a whirlwind between photo sessions, editing, ordering, delivering, and oh yea…a newborn! But somehow it all came together and looking back at these photos from these wonderful families makes the hustle worth it. I’m so very thankful for this past year that I was able to continue doing the two things I love the most: being mommy to three boys and being a photographer.
Blogging these sessions took a back seat to, well, going to bed when I had the chance! But now busy season and the holidays are over, my baby sleeps through the night (I just jinxed that, right?) and I’ve had a chance to catch my breath so I wanted to get these sessions up on the blog, these beautiful families need to be seen!
I’m looking forward to all the sessions already on the books for 2018 and am excited to see new and familiar faces in the year ahead. For now, here’s a peek back at my fall family photo sessions this year:
