When I was growing up I used to see this family in church and think, man they have a lot of daughters in their family. Yup four girls. I also used to think that they looked like a really nice family. Turns out I was right.
Through the years I’ve gotten the pleasure of getting to know some of these lovely ladies, even photographed a few of their milestones (maternity, newborn and first birthday to name a few) but this session was a little different. And by different I mean photographing a family that has grown into adults. As families do, they grow. They grow into welcoming husbands for their daughters, they grow by adding grandchildren, or children or nieces and nephews. And as time does, it keeps moving forward, so it was time to capture the here and now for this family as more changes are inevitably on it’s way, such as another wedding this fall for example.
Little miss E was the star of the session, as she has been for all of the other sessions I’ve had with her. She not only brings complete joy to her parents, but her aunts and uncles can’t get enough of her either. I probably don’t even need to say this but her grandparents are pretty crazy about her too.
Remember when I said they were a really nice family? Well, more than just “nice” they are a tight-knit group that just has fun together. At one point in the session I put my camera down for a minute and looked around. No body was watching me, but I observed all that was going on around me. Some were kicking a ball around, some were dancing, some were just laughing with each other. And I have no doubt that this is how they always are around each other. Happy to be with each other.
I hope these photos show a glimpse of how loving this ever-growing, ever-changing family is and I wish them nothing but joyous days ahead. Here are a few of my favorite images from our session.
