Photographing first time parents-to-be for their maternity session is always so fulfilling as a CT maternity photographer. The couple is always so excited and happy. Smiles come easy and the love shines through, which was definitely the case for these two.
For these parents-to-be we chose an in-door studio location in Hartford, CT at Nikki Estephan Studio for their maternity photo session. With it being January and a bit cold and drab out, an indoor space was more their vibe. I think they made the right call!
The neutral esthetic of the studio coordinated with their outfits gave this session a truly relaxed, but elevated style. Easy luxury I think I would call it 🙂
With an early February due date, we got this session in just under the wire. Mama was glowing (although that doesn’t even need to be said) and in some photos she literally looked like she was glowing from behind with the beautiful natural light streaming in. What a dream session 🙂
As far as winter photo sessions go, I know the consensus is that it is too cold or drab out and I mostly agree with that, BUT they can also be really beautiful. Last January I photographed a maternity session on the beach and despite temps in the 20s the photos came out so pretty. The point is there are still options for winter photo sessions both indoor and outdoor, just depends on what your vision is for the session.
