The first signs of fall have started with this beautiful backdrop for this fun family photo session!

As a Watertown CT Family Photographer I’ve been photographing this sweet family for years now and have so enjoyed watching their family grow! One of the many joys I have as a photographer!

Like all of my sessions my main goal is to have fun, and when there is a free-spirited toddler involved you can guess there’s a lot of movement and quick snapping I have to do to get the shot. Luckily I had my running shoes on 🙂

Parents often worry that their children won’t “behave” which often they think they have to sit and stare at the camera all session. That is not the case with me! Kids like movement, they get distracted easily, they want to explore the new environment they are in and that’s totally fine!

Capturing children as they truly are is what I think I do best. Capturing personalities, whether they are shy, silly or sassy it all comes out during the session! These are often the images parents tell me they treasure the most. Interactions and natural emotions should be seen in your photos, that’s what I believe at least.

So next time you worry your child has to sit and stare like a statue for photos, don’t! Find a photographer who has experience with children and some patience and leave the rest up to the professionals! I bet you will be surprised what they are able to capture for you!

Moral of this blog post, kids are kids, let them be themselves! It will be ok 🙂
