It’s always a wonderful feeling being asked to photograph special milestones in life, so when given the opportunity to photograph Becky and Jon’s maternity session I was thrilled. It was actually our fourth session together and when baby girl arrives later this month, her newborn session will make it five.
Our maternity session took place at Fairfield University which was special for a couple of reasons. One, Jon is an alum of Fairfield U and two they took their wedding photos here. The beautiful stone buildings and quiet shady pond provided the perfect backdrops for capturing not only that fabulous baby bump, but for documenting life as a family of three which will soon come to an end with the much anticipated arrival of their little girl. Big brother elect, Jake, was so much fun to photograph. He was ready to run, jump, look for bugs, and had plenty of hugs to give, especially for his mama. I have no doubt he’s going to have just as much love for his new baby sister.
As for Becky and Jon, they might be the easiest couple to photograph because they are just so naturally in love with each other. Like I’m talking stars in the eyes love. So when I asked them to just look at each other, it was always an authentic look of affection for each other. And that look they give each other, yea they give to Jake too. Capturing sweet moments they had with their little guy was just as natural. I’m so looking forward to capturing their next phase of life in a few weeks as they welcome their baby girl.
