There have been a lot of special people in my life that have had a baby this summer. This family, who is very near and dear to my heart, welcomed another baby boy into their family. The little man’s gender was a surprise, and most of us had our money on girl, but he fooled us! Baby boy is just a sweet as his big brother, who I also had the pleasure of photographing as a newborn two years ago now.
A beautiful morning presented an opportunity to take the family photos outside right in their yard. Our session was fun and relaxed as we captured how baby fit into his new family, who are over the moon smitten with him. He slept the entire time and had no problems smiling–might be the smiliest baby I’ve photographed actually. Big brother was happy to give kisses, read books to him, and hold his hand. He was also happy to just be (an almost) two year old running around with daddy and getting tossed into the air. There were lots of squeals and laughter–from everyone.
Once we were done with the outdoor photos and it was time for little man’s solo shots, he was ready to be awake and watch what all the fuss was about. Sometimes an awake baby can be a challenge, but not this dude. He was calm, cool, and collected the entire time and I was able to get the sweetest shots of him with his eyes wide open, which are my favorite images to capture of a newborn.
I wish my dear friends a heartfelt congratulations on adding another boy to our close-knit circle of friends. They are the most loving parents, couple, and friends you’ll ever find and deserve all of life’s happiness. Love you guys!
