If you are a parent then you know the craziness that is “the first born”. After the adrenaline of this new life you are responsible for has worn off and the sleepless nights have set it in, it’s kind of a shock to your system. I tried to properly set these expectations for my younger sister, Lauren, as she prepared for her daughter to make her way into this world. But per usual my sister seemed to have it all figured out. In those first few days and weeks as a new mom she was as calm as could be. If she was hiding any new mom anxieties, she fooled me. Motherhood is just a natural fit for my sister. And fatherhood looks just as good on my brother-in-law, Sean.
My niece arrived a few weeks ahead of schedule and just missed sharing a birthday with one of her aunts (me!) and one of her uncles. She was born right between the two of us. I guess sharing won’t be her thing!
Just like their maternity session (which you can view here) we did the newborn session in their home. Capturing the sheer tininess of Nora, the sweet smiles shared, and how two people became a family were my intentions for the session.
I’m thrilled to have another niece and beyond happy for Lauren and Sean as they embark on this journey of parenthood. They make a great team and Nora is beyond blessed to have them as her parents.
Here a few images that I hope showcase just how loved Miss Nora is.
