I’m publishing this post just days, hours, minutes?!?! (never know when these babies will decide to show up!) before our third baby is scheduled to arrive. I’m not going to lie, it was the toughest pregnancy I’ve had yet. With two toddlers running circles around me I could barely keep my head above water the first trimester. Intense exhaustion and nausea haunted me day and night for weeks. Then the haze lifted and the second trimester was blissful, filled with wonderful kicks from the baby and enjoying so many sweet interactions between my boys and my growing belly. I was finally able to embrace the great blessing of carrying a child. I don’t know what the future holds for us in terms of having any more children, to be honest it doesn’t feel like my last pregnancy yet, but just in case it is these last few days, hours, minutes!?! will be spent savoring the miraculous kicks I feel multiple times an hour now and excitedly awaiting to meet our new sweet baby. We don’t know if there’s a boy or girl in there yet, but the excitement is killing me and I simply cannot wait to hold this baby in my arms.

I did my best to document this pregnancy along the way and what I want to remember most about this experience is the way my boys (ages 4 and just newly 2) completely and totally get that their new baby sibling is in my belly and they are possibly more excited than me and my husband to meet him or her. Every day since we told them they were getting a new sibling the baby has received hugs, kisses, songs sang, books read, stuffed animals put up to my belly and “check-ups” with their doctor’s kit. And even more than that, in the last few weeks have showed such sympathy for me, plagued for weeks now with semi-debilitating sciatic nerve pain. They give me their hand to help me when they see me limping around, they pick things up for me because they know bending down takes too much effort and they even rub my back when they see me wince in pain. I am blown away by how much love they show for both me and the baby. I count my blessings every day for these two boys and this baby on the way. And I can’t forget my husband who has been patient, understanding, and supportive this entire time. He works long days and comes home and immediately takes over as “Mr. Mom” to give me a break. I’m not sure what I did to deserve this life but I’m so very grateful for it.

On a business note, I have finished up all of my sessions for the time being and will be taking some time off to enjoy with my family. I will be back some time in the fall for all those fall family mini sessions as well newborn and maternity sessions. Please keep watch on my Facebook and Instagram pages for updates on availability and scheduling those mini sessions. And a special thank you to all my past clients who are waiting for me to return to work to book their photo sessions with me. I know there are so many talented photographers out there that you could choose to book with but have reached out and said “you’ll wait for me” means so very much to me. Thank you.

And finally here are some of photos from this pregnancy that I’m excited to share with our baby boy/girl some day:

He looked at those ultrasound photos every day for while. Always talking about how cute new baby was going to be.

I asked him what he wished for and he said “A baby sister.” Oh buddy you might just get your wish (or you might get another awesome brother!)

What happens when you have the camera on a tripod, a two second timer and ask them who’s excited to meet new baby.

The baby bump has been the best ledge for holding children…and my daily ice cream bowl 🙂
